Autumn Pumpkins Tutorial

Kit Contents:

Instructions

Craft Time: ~ 2 hours

Small Pumpkin

  1. Prepare the glue bottle. Open the lid and remove the small stopper from the bottle. Screw the valve cap back on securely.

  2. Locate the bag labeled “Small Pumpkin” and remove the contents.

  3. Fold the pumpkin segments.

    • Place each segment on a flat surface with the side containing one adhesive strip facing up (the two-adhesive strip side down).
    • Using the bone folder, fold each segment inward along the score line.
  1. You will now have 36 half pumpkin pieces with adhesive strips at the top and the bottom on one side.

  2. Start stacking the segments. Take one segment and peel the backing from the top and bottom adhesive strips.

  3. Add a small drop of glue to each adhesive strip for a stronger, more permanent bond.

  4. Place a second segment directly on top of the first, with the side containing the adhesive strips facing up. Align the edges carefully and press firmly.

Tip: Take your time aligning each segment as you build your stack. The more accurately the segments are aligned, the more even your finished pumpkin will be.

  1. Continue adding one segment at a time, repeating the process until all 36 segments are stacked and attached.

  2. As you build the stack, press firmly on each newly added layer to ensure a secure bond.

  3. Connect the center strips. Each segment also has a center adhesive strip on the back. As you fan the pumpkin open, peel the backing from one center strip and attach it to the back of the next segment. Add a small drop of glue to the strip for a permanent bond.

  4. Continue until all the segments are connected and let the glue dry completely.

  5. Stand the pumpkin upright and gently fan out the segments to form the pumpkin shape.

Finish your pumpkin.

  1. To finish your pumpkin, choose one of the following options:
  • Permanent: Peel the backing from the top and bottom adhesive strips.  Add a small drop of glue to each strip, then attach the first segment to the last segment to close the pumpkin. Press firmly and hold for several seconds to allow the glue to bond.

  • Reusable: Use the two included plastic clips to connect the first and last segments at the top and bottom. This allows you to take the pumpkin apart for easy storage.

2. Add the stem. Locate the lighter-colored crepe paper and roll it tightly. Insert it into the center hole of the pumpkin.

3. Add the leaf. Take the smallest leaf and fold the stem tab downward. Insert the stem into the center hole alongside the crepe paper stem.

Medium & Large Pumpkins

  1. Assemble the Medium and Large pumpkins following the same instructions as above.

    • Use the darker-colored crepe paper for the stems.

    • Use the large leaves to finish the Medium and Large pumpkins.
