Instructions

Craft Time: ~1 hour

Assemble the Mailbox

  1. Prepare the glue bottle — Open the lid, remove the stopper, and screw the valve cap back on.

  2. Remove the contents of the bag labeled Mailbox.  Lay the mailbox flat with the white side facing upYou may need to gently bend some areas so that they lay flat.

  3. Find the two top track pieces (white half-circles). Peel off the backing and stick them on  the two half-circle areas of the mailbox.
Align each one flush with the top edge — this helps your lid attach smoothly later.

  4. Find the white 2-panelled adhesive strip (connector piece). Fold along the score line with the adhesive side facing outward.

  5. With the adhesive strip side facing up, peel the backing off the right panel of the strip and add a small dot of glue every inch along the adhesive.

  6. Position the right panel of the strip along the far right edge of the mailbox, making sure the folded center sits flush against that right edge.
The other panel (left) should hang off and point upward along the outside edge—this panel will attach to the inside of the opposite wall.

  7. Peel the backing off the left panel of the strip and add glue dots along the adhesive.

  8. Fold the mailbox frame into shape, and press the left panel (the overhang) firmly against the inside of the opposite wall to secure the structure. Hold in place for 30+ seconds for the glue to set.

  9. Set aside your square floor piece; it will be used in a later step.

Attach the Lid/Top

  1. Remove the contents of the bag labeled Mailbox Extras.
  2. Turn the mailbox so that the seam is in the back.
  3. Find the Lid/Top piece (rectangle with a mail slot and two adhesive strips).
  4. Peel off the adhesive backing from the end with the mail slot, and add a few dots of glue.
  5. Align the bottom of the mail slot hole with the top front edge of the mailbox. Stick it in place, making sure it’s straight so the dome will form correctly.
  6. Add a thin line of glue along the two top track pieces.
  7. Gently press the lid piece down onto the tracks, working in small sections as you go. Hold each section briefly while the glue sets to control the shape.
  8. When you reach the opposite end of the Lid/Top, peel off the adhesive backing, add a few dots of glue along the adhesive strip, and press it down to finish your lid.
  9. Your mailbox structure is now complete.

Embellish

  1. Locate the two domed side pieces and glue them onto the mailbox along the outer edges.
  2. Glue the two flat-top front/back pieces onto the front and back panels of the mailbox.
  3. Locate the two thin finishing strips. Add a few dots of glue along one strip, then press it along one outer seam of the lid on the top of the lid. Repeat with the second strip on the opposite side. This will cover the seams and give the dome a clean, finished look.
  4. Remove the contents of the bag labeled Mailbox Accessories.
  5. Locate the white envelope piece. Fold and glue both flaps inward to form an envelope shape. Center and glue the envelope on the front of the mailbox.
  6. Center and attach the enamel letters (MAIL) above the envelope.
  7. Peel and stick the enamel dots over each small rivet/hole on all four sides of the mailbox for a finishing touch.

Bottom/Base

  1. Find the square base/floor piece from the Mailbox bag that was set aside earlier. At an angle, insert the base/floor piece up through the bottom opening of the mailbox. Make sure the Grapefruit colored side is facing down.

  2. Inside the mailbox, you’ll see two small rails near the bottom—these are what the floor will rest on. Gently push the base up past the rails, then let it drop down so it sits securely on top of them.

    1. The rails keep the floor in place while still allowing you to lift it later if you want to add or remove anything inside the mailbox.

Heart Garland

  1. Locate the white twine. Lay the twine out on a flat surface and arrange the hearts in the order you prefer before you start gluing—each heart will use two pieces.

  2. Place two hearts back-to-back and glue them together with the twine sandwiched in between. Repeat for all hearts along the twine.

  3. Once all the hearts are attached, tie both ends of the twine together in a knot.

  4. Drape the garland over the mailbox.
